Naniwa Japanese sharpening stones are top-quality products renowned for their efficiency and durability. Available in several ranges, they can be adapted to all your sharpening needs.
The brand is highly regarded by professionals. In fact, it recommends its Super Stone range to the most seasoned users. Indeed, as these stones are slightly softer than those in the Professional range, for example, it is easier for the blade to "insert" itself into the stone during sharpening, which could damage your knife.
The stones in the Super Stone range have different grits to complement each other or stand alone. So you can choose the one(s) best suited to your blades.
This stone is extremely fine, just one centimetre thick. But thanks to its composition, the stone wears much less quickly and therefore lasts longer. It has a high concentration of abrasive particles, enabling you to sharpen your knives quickly. To agglomerate the composite material, Naniwa has directly manufactured a synthetic resin binder. The quality of this binder is recognized and the stone is more resistant, especially to chipping.
It has a 10000 grit which is very effective for finishing sharpening. This ultra-fine grit is to be used exclusively on very hard steels to which you would like to give an extremely razor-sharp finish. The stone is suitable for powder steels.
It is a Splash & Go stone, like all the other stones in the range. This means that you don't need to immerse the stones, but simply spray them to prepare them. You save time by using these sharpening stones.
Once you've finished sharpening, it's important to brush the surface of the stone to remove any accumulated steel residue, then allow it to dry completely before putting it away. To this end, leave the stone in the open air, well away from any source of heat which, if too great, could crack the stone.
To make the stone easier to use, you can add a suitable support to stabilize it.
