Naniwa' s Super Stone range includes a number of stones with different grits. So you can combine several stones for a complete sharpening job, or choose just one stone to suit your needs.
The stone is very thin, measuring just one centimetre in height. However, thanks to its composition, it wears very slowly and therefore lasts longer. It is highly concentrated in abrasive particles to guarantee rapid sharpening of your knives. To agglomerate the material, Naniwa uses a synthetic resin binder of its own design. The quality of the binder is recognized and offers the stone greater resistance, particularly to chipping.
With its 3000 grit, the stone gives a razor-sharp finish to steels with a medium-high hardness. This grit can also be used as a step in the sharpening of very hard steels, before polishing to an even finer grit.
Naniwa's Super Stone range contains so-called Splash & Go stones: it is important not to immerse the stones in water as with standard sharpening stones. Simply moisten the useful surface and you're done. These are time-saving stones.
As soon as you've finished sharpening, brush the stone thoroughly to remove any accumulated steel waste. Leave the stone to dry completely in the open air, away from any source of heat to prevent cracking.
To make the stone easier to use, it can be fitted with a suitable support to give it greater stability.
Naniwa Super Stone sharpening stones are top-of-the-range products renowned for their effectiveness and long-lasting durability.
Naniwa stones are highly appreciated by professionals. In fact, the brand recommends the Super Stone range to experienced users rather than beginners. These stones are a little softer than those in the Professional range, for example, so it's easier for the blade to "sink" into the stone, which would damage your knife.
