Naniwa Japanese sharpening stones are top-quality products renowned for their efficiency and long service life. Available in several ranges, they can be adapted to all your sharpening needs.
Professionals appreciate the brand's products. In fact, Naniwa recommends its Super Stone range to sharpening experts rather than novices. These stones are a little softer than the Professional range, for example, so it's easier for the blade to "sink" into the stone during sharpening, which could damage your knife.
This Super Stone range from Naniwa contains a whole series of stones with different grits that complement each other, so you can sharpen your blades completely, or choose just one if necessary.
The stone is very thin, only 1cm thick. However, its composition gives it a slower rate of wear, ensuring a longer service life. It is highly concentrated in abrasive particles, enabling you to sharpen your knives quickly. Note that Naniwa uses a binder of its own creation to agglomerate the material. This is a synthetic resin of recognized quality, which gives the stone greater resistance, particularly to chipping.
The stone's 5000 grit makes it highly effective for polishing the cutting edge of your blades, giving them a distinctive razor-sharp finish. You can also use the 5000 grit to sharpen very hard knives that are beginning to lose their edge.
Naniwa Super Stones are so-called Splash & Go stones: this means they don't need a pre-soaking phase. All you have to do is sprinkle them on their useful surface, and they're ready to go. You save time by using these stones.
Once sharpening is complete, brush the stone thoroughly to remove any accumulated waste material, and allow it to dry completely for storage. To do this, place the stone in the open air and away from any source of excessive heat, which could cause the stone to crack.
If necessary, you can add a suitable stand to stabilize the stone and make it easier to use.
