The Naniwa Super Stone range offers several stones with different grits. You can choose one stone or several for total blade sharpening, as they complement each other.
This is an extremely fine stone, measuring just 1cm in height. However, because of its composition, it wears more slowly than standard stones, ensuring a longer life. It is highly concentrated in abrasive particles to ensure that your kitchen knives are sharpened quickly. Naniwa uses a synthetic resin binder of its own design to bond the composite material. The quality of the binder is recognized and it offers the stone greater resistance, especially with regard to chipping.
The stone's 400 grit makes it highly effective on knives with severely damaged blades. The thicker grit cleans damaged blades. You can then opt for a higher grit to polish the cutting edge.
The Super Stone range contains Splash & Go stones: the stones don't need to be pre-soaked in water like conventional whetstones. Simply moisten the surface of the stones before use to prepare them. These are time-saving stones.
When sharpening is complete, brush the stone thoroughly to remove any accumulated steel waste, and allow it to dry completely before storing. To do this, leave the stone in the open air, without placing it near a source of excessive heat, which could cause it to crack.
To make the stone easier to use, we recommend using the appropriate Naniwa stand, which will raise and stabilize it.
Naniwa offers top-of-the-range Japanese stones renowned for their durability and effectiveness. They are available in several ranges to suit your specific sharpening needs.
These stones are particularly popular with professionals. The Super Stone range is recommended for expert sharpening users. As these stones are a little softer than those in the Professional range, for example, it's easier for the blade to "sink" into them during sharpening movements, which can damage the knife.
All Naniwa sharpening stones are available on our website!
