Make room in your kitchen for these knives from the Tamahagane Bamboo range!
Cooks, this Tamahagane Bamboo chef's knife is ideal for easily slicing large pieces of meat in a single pass, as well as medium and large fruits and vegetables!
Its 24cm blade is made of VG5 steel. The carbon content is around 0.7 to 0.8%, enabling the blade to achieve an HRC hardness of 59 on the Rockwell scale. This hardness will enable you to cut raw or cooked meat without tearing the fibers, and to make thin slices of fruit and vegetables. Hard steels like this one have a number of advantages, not least of which is that they retain their sharpness for a long time, so you won't need to sharpen your knife too frequently.
For fans of Japanese knives: VG5 steel blades have the same cutting edge quality as VG10 steel blades(renowned steel in Japan), which means excellent cutting quality! A softer steel envelops the core, which is why it's called 3-layer steel. This softer steel protects the core from shocks and possible traces of corrosion(note that it is not stainless).
The handle is sculpted like a bamboo stalk, a plant widely found in Japan, recalling the knife's Japanese origins. Made of stainless steel, it's easy to clean, as bacteria can't penetrate it! It's hygienic and corrosion-resistant, so a quick wipe down with a sponge is all it takes.
Care instructions: clean your knife by hand using a sponge and water, then dry it with a cloth: don't let it air-dry as this could damage the blade. We recommendusing a grit, double-sided 3000/8000stone.
Opt for this all-steel knife, whether you're a keen cook or a professional chef, it's so nice to cook with good equipment!
