Description

Boos Blocks boards are a guarantee of quality. Professional American chefs have been using them for years, and French chefs love them!

The Boos Blocks brand is certified by the FSC(Forest Stewardship Council), an environmental label ensuring that wood production complies with sustainable forest management rules.

The wood used for this cutting board is maple, which is very dense and therefore strong. The maple is harvested in Illinois, the American state where Boos Blocks boards are manufactured. Its thickness and large size will also be much appreciated when cutting large pieces of meat! What's more, the gutter along the entire surface will allow you to collect the cooking juices from your preparations.

2 handles integrated directly into the wood make it easy to grip. The smooth surface is ideal for cutting non-juicy foods such as vegetables.

A little anecdote: It was in his blacksmith's workshop that founder Conrad Boos first invented what was to become the original Boos Block®. After harvesting maple in wooded areas of Illinois, and processing it in his sawmill, Conrad brought it to his blacksmith's shop to make a three-legged block, intended simply to block the impact of the blacksmith's hammer against the anvil. It was the local butcher who, after seeing and admiring Conrad's block, asked him to make one for his butcher's work. And that's how Boos Blocks got its start in the butcher's block and plank market!

NSF-compliant, it can also be used in commercial kitchens.

Thanks to over 125 years' experience, Boos Blocks has developed a unique know-how, ensuring products of impeccable quality.

Care instructions :

Wood needs to be maintained regularly to avoid warping: wood works, shrinking and expanding under the effect of humidity and temperature, eventually causing cracks if left untended. To prevent this from happening, top-of-the-range boards should be nourished with mineral oil or special waxes. After each wash, dry the board with a cloth. Once dry, apply a few drops of cutting-board oil and rub with a cloth or paper towel. Ideally, you should coat the board with oil until it can absorb no more. Once a week is recommended.
