Our team has studied the market to offer you the most interesting hotel bag possible, in partnership with the famous Sabatier brand, recognized for decades in the cutlery world.
This chef's bag is a real asset for professionals! It's ideal for hotel students, restaurant chefs or home chefs.
It's a real plus when you're on the move, as it allows you to carry your favorite equipment in complete safety!
Sabatier Chef knives:
These knives have a stainless steel blade, for good resistance to corrosion. The alloy used is X45CrMo14, with a Rockwell hardness of 56 HRC. As it is not extremely hard, it is easy to maintain with a sharpening gun. This also makes it more resistant to shocks (as a "softer" blade will absorb them better, unlike a very rigid one).
Each blade has been hand-sharpened using a grinding wheel, guaranteeing a clean, sharp edge right from the outset.
Finally, the knife handles are made from black POM, a durable polymer. The grip is ideal, and the 3 brass through rivets give the knives a pleasant balance.
Sabatier backpack:
Its large capacity allows you to gather all your equipment in it, so you don't have to carry several bags and briefcases, which isn't necessarily practical if you're taking public transport! In fact, the bag has around 32 places, arranged on 3 removable trays.
Backpack anatomy :
Front section:
This features a small zippered top pocket, allowing you to store your papers inside, for example.
Another front pocket can be accessed by unclipping a clip. It opens via two side zippers and itself contains several storage spaces: a long zipped pocket, a space that can be closed with a Velcro fastener (for a smartphone, for example) and a space for 3 pens.
At the back of all this space are two new accordion compartments, where you can put, for example: recipe books, technical data sheets, a small laptop, a tablet, an apron...
A further pocket is available behind these slots. You access it by opening a zipper. You can put in other recipe books, a spare tee shirt, files... Its large capacity means you'll be right at home!
Inside left :
The bag's main compartments open with zippers. On the left-hand side, you'll find a removable storage plate that can be clipped to the bag and contains 8 storage spaces (some are smaller than others, which is handy for small accessories like the bridle needle). A small flap with snap fasteners protects knife blades, or the upper part of your utensils.
The maximum blade length you can insert (assuming the handle stops at the elastic band) is 27cm.
This is where you can put your kitchen knives, your meat fork, your binder needle...
Right inner part :
The right side of the bag has two removable plates, one of which can be attached directly to the backpack.
Both plates are identical, and feature elastic storage on the front of their surface. 12 rubber bands are arranged across its width (2x6, as one row of 6 faces another row of 6), allowing you to arrange either 6 large pieces (to be held at both ends), or 12 small pieces (to be passed through one band each).
The width of the rubber bands is approx. 4.5 cm, and the surface area of a plate is approx. 27 x 41.5 cm.
This is where you store your utensils!
As all the plates in the bag are removable, they are easy to clean. Simply unclip them, empty them of their utensils, and wipe them down with a sponge to remove any marks.
Finally, its ergonomic shape (like a schoolboy's backpack) distributes the weight of the equipment evenly over both shoulders, leaving your arms and hands free. This way, you don't have the full weight of the container tilting you to one side (as would be the case with a briefcase, for example, which also takes up your hand).
It has two reinforced, adjustable shoulder straps that are comfortable to wear. Finally, a small handle on the front allows you to hold it in your hand if you wish.
Complete bag dimensions: (L) 49cm (including handle) x (W) 34cm x (H) 10.5 cm. Empty weight: 2.24kg.
This is a great option if you want to equip a student at a catering school, or even a home chef! Or simply treat yourself!
