Whether you're a professional or a hobbyist, the De Buyerchef knife is a versatile knife for everyday use!
The chef's knife is the all-purpose Western kitchen knife par excellence. Its V-shaped blade with 2 bevels can be used for all types of cutting: chopping herbs, slicing tomatoes, cutting meat or filleting fish!
The 21cm blade of this chef's knife is made of X50CrMoV15 steel. This alloy resists shock and corrosion, offering excellent durability. It contains 0.5% carbon to solidify the blade, which is reinforced by molybdenum and protected by vanadium. The steel is hardened and tempered, and the blade's hardness reaches 56HRC. As a result, daily maintenance is easy with a Sharpening steel.
As with all knives in the De BuyerFK2 range, the blade of this chef's knife elegantly combines the finesse of Japanese blades with that of a Western chef's knife, resulting in a unique hybrid geometry.
The handle is made of black polymer reinforced with carbon fiber. Its non-slip texture makes for a pleasant, secure grip. The knife's one-piece tang and thick bolster ensure long-lasting strength and reliability.
A new feature of the range is that you can adjust the balance of your knife. You can unscrew the end of the knife's handle to add or remove as many small nuts as you need, so that it's just right for you. The result is an efficient, lightweight kitchen knife at an affordable price.
Do not wash your knife in the dishwasher. We recommend sponge-washing with washing-up liquid, rinsing thoroughly and drying immediately to prolong its life.
