Description

Collectors will appreciate this Japanese folding knife by Kanetsune Seki, with its elegant retro look that was all the rage in Japan in the 60s.

The origins of this knife date back to 1896: it was invented in Higo, an ancient Japanese province. Higo no Kami, meaning "Lord of Higo", was an honorary title bestowed on valorous samurai. In fact, this pocket knife is a worthy successor to the Katanas, since the San Mai 3-layer steel manufacturing process is similar. Here, the blade is made fromSK-5 alloy, a Japanese steel renowned for its excellent hardness and resistance to abrasion.

The "Chikiri" opening system is simple and reliable, the Japanese equivalent of the Piedmontese. The protuberance on the back of the blade acts as a rocker to engage and disengage the blade.

This Japanese pocket knife features a handle designed in solid black steel with a faded look. The beautiful engravings in Japanese characters add a certain cachet to this fine cutting object.

As carbon is oxidizable, the knife should be washed by hand and wiped directly with a soft cloth. Do not put it in the dishwasher or soak it. It's important to note that, despite careful care, a carbon knife may change color slightly over time - this is perfectly normal.
