Description

Higonokami knives first appeared in Japan in 1896. They are the emblematic folding knives of the Land of the Rising Sun. This model is produced by Kanetsune Seki, a leading Japanese cutlery house in business since 1964.

This pocket knife is no exception to the rule of Higonokami blade manufacture, as it is designed according to the"San Mai" process. The principle is based on the superimposition of 3 layers of steel: the core is made of carbon (for a rigid, sharp edge), then surrounded by a layer of softer steel that sandwiches it.

The blade's engagement and disengagement mechanism is called Piedmontese. All you have to do to open the knife is apply pressure to the lens at the end of the blade.

The handle is as robust as it is elegant. Made from black steel, it contrasts perfectly with the gold engravings representing the manufacturer's authentic signature. Finally, it features an eyecup at the end, a practical detail for inserting a lanyard to hang the knife from your belt or backpack.

As carbon is oxidizable, the knife should be washed by hand and wiped directly with a soft cloth. Do not put it in the dishwasher or soak it. It's important to note that, despite careful care, a carbon knife may change color slightly over time - this is perfectly normal.
