The Japanese brand offers you top-of-the-range stones renowned for their performance and exceptional longevity. Sharpening stones are available in different ranges, including Glass Stone and Kuromaku, to suit your specific needs.
The stones have a lower wear capacity, making them high quality stones highly appreciated by professionals in the food industry.
Shapton Kuromaku stones are available in a range of grits for complete sharpening of all your blades. Whether you need a very thick grit for a dull blade or a very fine grit for a razor-sharp finish, the range has what you need.
This Kuromaku stone is Shapton's thickest stone. Measuring almost 1.5cm thick, it is made of ceramic. The abrasive particles of which it is composed are evenly distributed over its surface, ensuring fast, perfect sharpening of your blades. Ceramic is a very hard material that wears less quickly, despite its many uses.
As stone is resistant and efficient, it is highly appreciated by professionals and ideally suited to intensive use.
It features an 8000 grit: a relatively high grit that enhances the sharpening process by refining the cutting edge. The cutting edge is very sharp and the blade glides through the food you're cutting. This stone provides a precise finish on knives with a high hardness of at least 60 HRC. Used regularly on very hard knives, it prevents them from losing their sharpness too quickly. This allows you to maintain them without removing too much material, while preserving their incredible cutting performance.
Kuromaku stones are Splash & Go stones: they don't need to be pre-soaked. Simply moisten them before use to prepare them for use.
The stone comes with a multi-purpose protective box. As well as protecting the stone, it is ideal for use as a support during sharpening. The box is fitted with non-slip rubber feet, making the stone perfectly stable. The grooved surface of the box ensures good ventilation of the stone, even when stored.
Also, leave the stone to dry well in the open air, avoiding placing it near a heat source. This could cause the stone to crack.
