Description

Kai Seki Magoroku Kaname knives are a must-have for everyday use in the kitchen! These Japanese kitchen knives are crafted from quality materials to deliver high-performance cuts.

The paring knife is a versatile model that allows you to make a wide range of cuts. You can use it on a variety of foods, from fruit and vegetables to meat! Its small blade is ideal for small jobs requiring precision. In fact, its kiritsuke tip is perfect for increasing your precision! Just be careful not to use it on hard foods such as squash or bones.

A top-of-the-range Kai knife for your cutting needs

This Japanese paring knife features a blade with a San Maï structure: it consists of a rigid steel core that is covered by a softer, self-folding layer of steel. This technique provides better protection for the core of your blade, while balancing out its hardness.

The core of this blade is made from VG-Xeos steel, an alloy produced by the renowned Takefu Special Steel. It is enriched with carbon and achieves a hardness of 61HRC on the Rockwell scale. This high hardness guarantees excellent edge retention as well as an efficient cutting edge, making it easy to space out sharpening sessions. What's more, you can easily maintain its cutting edge with a whetstone.

To finish off the San Maï, a layer of stainless steel surrounds the core to protect it and give it suppleness (without becoming flexible). This makes your blade less brittle in use. You can observe the superimposition of steels along the entire length of the cutting edge, forming a fine wave with random patterns that are unique!

To add a touch of refinement, the blade has a very elegant satin finish!

The versatile handle for all cooks

The handle of this Japanese knife is made of black pakkawood, a durable and resistant material. This composite material is made from laminated wood and resin, all hot-pressed together. It has all the advantages of a composite, but with a natural look created by the wood grain.

With its octagonal shape, this Kai knife is ideal for both left- and right-handed users! It offers an ergonomic grip for comfortable use, particularly when used for extended periods in the kitchen.

To complete the handle, a stainless steel bolster has been added where the blade meets the handle. It gives your kiritsuke paring knife better balance!

To care for your Kai Kaname knife, wash only by hand with a sponge and mild detergent. Once cleaned, dry immediately with a clean cloth to remove all moisture and store in a dry place. Do not use the dishwasher or leave it to soak in the sink.
