The Nórdikasantoku knife is for all cooks looking for a versatile, committed knife!
Arcos is a Spanish company based in Albacete, one of the country's leading cutlery manufacturers. With over 300 years' experience, the company now enjoys a worldwide reputation. Today, Arcos employs over 500 people who work daily on the 600+ knife models the brand offers. The company devotes over 30,000m2 to the manufacture of its knives, to which it applies innovative technology in a constant quest for quality.
The Arcos Nórdika santoku knife is a multi-purpose knife. This model, typical of Japanese and, more broadly, Asian cuisine, is recognizable by its broad blade and rounded tip. This singular shape gives it perfect balance. It is ideal for cutting all types of food, as it is efficient for meat, fish and vegetables. This is undoubtedly the knife for amateur and professional cooks alike!
The santoku's 19cm blade is made of Nitrum®stainless steel, an alloy specially developed by Arcos. Enriched with nitrogen, it gives the blade an increased hardness of 57HRC. This figure is synonymous with a long-lasting cutting edge combined with easy maintenance. So, on a day-to-day basis, a simple trip to the Sharpening steel allows you to take full advantage of your knife's performance. And don't forget that stainless steel is the ideal material for kitchen Utensils and knives, as it resists shock and oxidation, and therefore stands the test of time.
This blade also benefits from Silk Edge® cutting action, for smooth, clean cuts every time. This cutting edge combines innovative technology with the know-how of Arcos master cutters to deliver consistently optimal cutting quality.
The santoku handle is made from Ovangkol wood. This African wood is 100% natural, coming from FSC®-certified forests because they are sustainably managed. Indeed, the non-profit Forest Stewardship Council aims to promote responsible management of the planet's forest resources, from an environmental, social and economic point of view.
The handle is ergonomically designed, and the Ovangkol wood prevents chafing caused by repeated, intensive use of your knife. For extra strength, 3 corrosion-resistant brass rivets press the handle against the knife's full tang blade. Ovangkol wood is very elegant, with a color ranging from brown to chocolate. Not only do you have a high-performance knife, you also have a beautiful kitchen knife.
As part of its commitment to protecting the environment, Arcos offers this santoku knife knife in a 100% recycled and recyclable cardboard case, reducing the use of plastic in packaging by 70%.
