This set includes 3 essential kitchen utensils:
- chef's knife, 20cm blade
- 16cm blade carving knife
- paring knife, 8cm blade
The full tang blade, which runs the full length of the handle, is 100% forged from stainless steel. As a result, these knives are extremely sturdy and well-balanced, with the weight of the steel evenly distributed.
What's more, the blade of these Opinel Les Forgés 1890 knives is forged at a temperature of 1200°C, which gives the steel both a high-quality fiber structure and an HRC hardness of 56/57. In addition, the X50CrMoV15 alloy offers a good compromise between high-performance cutting edge and ease of sharpening. Last but not least, the 30° cumulative sharpening angle gives each blade great cutting power.
The flowing handle is another of these knives' strong points. It is made from water-resistant beech wood. Its ergo-profile shape and curved volume allow you to grasp it without tensing your hand, and its V-grip technology helps guide the blade.
To clean wooden handles, use a sponge or clean cloth dampened with lukewarm water (20°C), then wipe immediately with a dry cloth. Absolutely avoid running them under water or allowing water to penetrate the slot, as this will cause deformation.
