In fact, very solid blades break more easily and sharply if they are put under stress. Enriched with nitrogen, hardness is increased to improve sharpness. This steel remains rather supple, and will tend to deform rather than break cleanly if subjected to impact.
The blade is also entirely forged, meaning that it has been shaped from a solid piece of steel (a steel bar), to avoid sticking points or too many welds. The steel bar used in this process will form the blade, Bolster and tang, all in one piece.
The steel is shaped using high heat and a press to give it its final form. This process requires unique know-how : each knife is "fuller" in the hand, more balanced, and above all ultra-strong.
- The final sharpening is done by hand and with a grinding wheel, for an impeccable finish thanks to expert craftsmen! You'll feel it from the very first cut: the blade has no trouble penetrating food.
- The handle is made of black POM, a durable polymer. The grip is ideal, and the 3 stainless steel through rivets give the whole knife a pleasant balance.
- The Bag is made of black nylon, a strong, durable component. It's also waterproof: handy if you're out and about in the rain! 6 compartments are available for storing your knives in small elastic nets. Each storage space has a nylon flap, which can be closed with snap fasteners to protect the blades. Also, the 2 storage spaces are removable, so you can detach the plates for easier washing.
