This 24cm chef knife is a kitchen essential. Be versatile in your cuts and work with meat, fish, fruit, vegetables and fresh herbs with the same knife.
Shimomura TU-9000 knives are made in Japan by the cutlery company of the same name. Founded in 1874, the company specialized in the manufacture of agricultural tools, and in 1957 was among the first to enter the field of stainless steel knives. The company uses its know-how and high-precision technology to create knives for both private and professional customers.
The blade is made of stainless steel enriched with vanadium and molybdenum. Vanadium increases strength and impact resistance, while molybdenum enhances strength and corrosion resistance. The result is an HRC hardness of 56/58 on the Rockwell scale, giving the blade a good, long-lasting edge that's easy to sharpen.
To guarantee optimum use from the very first cut, the blade has been sharpened with a Sharpening stone by a qualified craftsman.
The handle is made of laminated wood, an easy-care, lightweight material. The knife's grip and handle ergonomics are perfect! It is also suitable for ambidextrous use. The handle is complemented by 3 rivets and a stainless steel bolster that links it to the blade and adds balance to the knife. Its black color is sober and elegant!
We recommend washing the knife by hand under running water with neutral soap, then wiping it with a soft cloth before storing it in a dry place. It's best not to apply too much pressure to the handle under water, as this could cause the wood to warp. Careful maintenance will keep your knife looking as good as new.
This chef's knife comes in a gilded cardboard box for a perfect gift!
