Description

This 16cm chef knife is part of the Zwilling Pro series of knives, designed for both professionals (as the name suggests) and home cooks.

This is the knife you need for all your culinary tasks. Indeed, the chef's knife is a multi-purpose model with an interesting range of functions: chopping, mincing, mincing, it's useful for everything! What's more, its wide blade (2mm thick) means you'll be more at ease with larger pieces (for example, mincing a large piece of boneless meat).

The blade is made of stainless steel. The Zwilling alloy has been enriched with carbon and chromium: this higher concentration increases the knife's corrosion resistance and strength. In short, these are the two key elements of a durable, high-performance steel.

The hardness of the Zwilling Pro knife is -+ 56/58 HRC: the cutting edge not only performs well over time, but is also easy to maintain (with a Sharpening steel, for example, which is a very quick solution in the professional sector).

What's more, the blade has been forged using Zwilling's own SIGMAFORGE process, i.e. it is formed on a single piece of steel, which avoids too many welding points, thus increasing the knife's strength and balance.

FRIODUR tempering is a heat treatment unique to Zwilling. The steel is immersed in ice to bring its temperature down very quickly. The aim is to further increase the steel's strength and hardness, for an impeccable finish. This technique also perfects the cutting edge, giving it a slight suppleness that makes it more pleasant to use.

Sharpening is carried out using Profil V-Edge, at 15° on each side of the wire (a total of 30°). The cutting edge is well marked, rivalling even some Japanese knives! Thanks to this, food fibers are not broken, but sliced cleanly, for a taste that's respected.

The slightly curved bolster is the perfect link between blade and handle. It is soft and ergonomic (a brand innovation, adding the design touch that makes all the difference). The handle is made of black synthetic material, with 3 rivets securing the full tang blade inside. Comfort is optimal, and the knife is ambidextrous.

Beyond its performance, this series of knives is also notable for its style, developed by Italian designer Matteo Thun. The uncluttered appearance enhances a timeless design!

To care for your knife, we recommend hand-washing it and drying it immediately with a soft cloth, to prevent moisture from remaining in contact with the knife.

For the best equipment in your kitchen, choose Zwilling brand knives!
