Zwilling ★★★★ Four Star®: 40 years of quality
The Four Star knife range celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2016. To achieve this level of finesse, the cutlery manufacturer has innovated by choosing a stainless steel enriched with carbon and chromium. The former increases blade hardness (55-58 HRC) and edge longevity, but reduces corrosion resistance. The latter increases elasticity and corrosion resistance. The judicious combination of these two elements highlights Zwilling 's century-old know-how and understanding of the standards and requirements of the culinary arts. Once this material has been obtained, the blade is forged using the SIGMAFORGE process. This technique increases the blade's strength and durability. The blade is then cold-hardened using the FRIODUR tempering method. Using ice, this process creates such a temperature difference that the blade's structure is strengthened and its toughness significantly increased. After these two stages, the forged blade is worked to a cumulative angle of 30° (i.e. 15° on each side). This choice allows the blade to glide through food without the need for any effort.
The selection of an enriched material, the development of 2 innovative processes and the choice of a precise cutting angle give the blade of Four Star knives the characteristics necessary for a professional-quality blade.
Only a few clicks separate you from the elegance and performance of these top-of-the-range knives. Don't hesitate to equip yourself with the Zwilling Four Star knives available on KnifeLeader.eu!
