Description

Traditional elegance and performance for this handcrafted Japanese knife

The Kei Kobayashi SG2 Damascus 15 cm artisanal Japanese utility knife combines refined aesthetics with ancestral know-how. Forged in Seki, the heart of Japanese cutlery, by Kei Kobayashi, this Japanese kitchen knife embodies the art of high-performance cutting.

Performance of your Damascus knife

The 15 cm blade has a damascus structure: a core of SG2 powdered steel is covered by several layers of softer steel for balanced hardness. SG2 steel contains around 1.3% carbon, offering exceptional edge retention and ease of sharpening thanks to its hardness of 63HRC on the Rockwell scale. The damask finish adds strength and unique aesthetics! The sharpening andflat grinding of your Japanese kitchen knife has been carried out by hand by Japanese blacksmith Kei Kobayashi.

A Japanese utility knife with a colorful ergonomic handle

The heptagonal handle is made of varnished red pakkawood for an original design. It provides a secure, comfortable grip for prolonged use in the kitchen. Symmetrical, it is suitable for both right- and left-handed users. Its original shape and meticulous finish make it a real eye-catcher!
