A precise cut, without any unnecessary noise!
The red Tormek T1 sharpener easily restores the cutting edge of kitchen knives. Designed for knife enthusiasts and discerning cooks, it combines precision, ease of use, and a meticulous finish. Its slow-rotating diamond grinding wheel removes only the necessary amount of steel, while its deburring disc polishes the edge until it achieves an exceptionally sharp cut. The result: perfectly maintained blades and a clean cut—without turning your kitchen into a noisy workshop!
Technology designed for the most demanding blades
This electric knife sharpener uses a 600-grit DF-150 conical diamond grinding wheel, measuring 150 × 18 mm. Its rotation speed of 150 rpm minimizes heat buildup and helps preserve the blade’s hardness. Its built-in magnet collects steel particles during sharpening.
The patented guide allows for precise angle adjustment, from 8 to 22° on each side. Each bevel can be worked on separately to adapt to the knife’s geometry. This method is also suitable for certain asymmetrical blades, such as Japanese models (e.g., yanagiba, deba...), provided they are compatible with the guide.
The machine accommodates steel blades and ceramic knives:
- Height between 12 and 60 mm
- Maximum thickness of 5 mm
- Unlimited blade length
- Sharpeningon one or both sides depending on the profile
A PW-160 composite deburring disc is included, measuring 160 × 30 mm. Its built-in polishing agent removes burrs and finishes the cutting edge.
With a noise level limited to 45 dB, it remains comfortable to use. The powder-coated cast zinc body ensures good stability, while the solid, oiled oak handle provides a warm finish.
The maintenance-free single-phase AC motor delivers 2 Nm of torque. Power output reaches 60 W at no load and 120 W at maximum load. This compact machine measures 204 × 196 × 181 mm, weighs 5.4 kg, and has a 1.7-meter cord.
Tips for Successful Sharpening
Place the machine on a stable surface and select the appropriate angle. Use the EM-15 marker to check the bevel alignment. Guide the blade without applying excessive pressure, then sharpen each side separately. Finish with the PW-160 disc to remove burrs. Clean the magnet regularly and wipe the surfaces with a dry cloth. The diamond grinding wheel is used without water.
