Description

The Japan Kanetsune double-sided 120/1000 grit whetstone + base for versatile sharpening of all your blades!

Japan Kanetsune offers traditional Japanese stones to give your blades an impeccable edge.

This stone is double-sided, for greater efficiency and storage space. Both sides can be sharpened differently to suit your needs!

-Face 120, a coarse grain for your dullest knives

This side is recommended for knives with a completely dull blade. If your blade has lost all its sharpness, it will be cleaned after sharpening with 120 grit. It is also used to completely restore a blade's geometry.

- Face 1000, a medium grit for most blades

This is a highly versatile grit for finishing low-HRC blades and starting a fine sharpening process for high-HRC blades. It restores sharpness without removing too much material either. It prevents your blades from becoming dull, but without deteriorating their quality. 1000 grit is the most widely used grit for sharpening in general!

The base supplied with this double-sided stone guarantees stability and comfortable, safe use during your sharpening sessions.

Recommendations for use :

- Soak the stone in water until no more bubbles appear (approx. 15 minutes).

- Place the stone on its base to ensure it is stable.

- Sharpen your knife at the angle corresponding to its type (santoku, chef, deba...)

- After sharpening, clean and dry the stone, then store it in a dry cloth to prevent cracking

To guarantee a long life for your stone :

- Avoid leaving the stone to soak for too long, as this will weaken it and render it ineffective.

- Keep the stone away from direct sunlight, and do not dry it with a kiln, as cracks may appear.
