The Misono UX10 30cm Japanese chef knife brings you ease of use and long-lasting cutting performance!
The Misono brand was established in 1935. It was founded in Seki, the cutlery capital of Japan. Initially, the family business specialized in kitchen peelers. From the 1960s onwards, it diversified into the manufacture of knives.
Today, Misono is considered the oldest manufacturer of Western-style knives in Japan. It employs 50 experts who produce over 150,000 pieces a year. 100% of the manufacturing steps are carried out by Misono, whereas most companies of this size outsource the production of certain parts.
Experts draw on the traditional techniques of Japanese master blacksmiths to craft each Misono knife. The world's top chefs use Misono knives.
This chef's knife from the UX10 range features an imposing 30cm blade, ideal for professional use but also suitable for all amateur chefs wishing to equip themselves with the best kitchen equipment. The blade is made of Swedish stainless steel, highly resistant to the effects of corrosion.
The sharpness of the knives in this range is the highest of all the brand's knives. A hardness of 59/60 HRC provides an excellent compromise between cutting life and ease of sharpening. Maintenance with a Sharpening stone is recommended.
The cutting edge has an asymmetrical cutting angle. This ensures clean, easy and precise cutting of your food without damaging it.
The brand and range logos have been applied to the cutting surface.
The handle of this chef's knife is made of pakkawood. This composite material is a blend of resin and wood, with very interesting properties for working in the kitchen. In fact, it is highly resistant to humidity and will not move a millimeter, even when subjected to shocks. It is also antibacterial, ideal for promoting a hygienic kitchen environment.
The base is slightly recessed for a comfortable grip. A bolster and three nickel-silver rivets provide balance and strength. Maillechort is a blend of nickel, copper and zinc that blends perfectly with the Swedish stainless steel of the full tang blade (which runs the length of the handle). The 3 rivets hold the blade in place, and the bolster adds perfect balance to the piece.
When it comes to maintenance, be sure to clean your knife by hand rather than in the dishwasher, using a soft sponge and washing-up liquid. Then wipe the knife with a dry cloth before storing it carefully.
Whether you're an amateur or a professional chef, this knife will appeal to anyone looking for performance and durability in their everyday cutting.
