Description

Naniwa Japanese whetstones are considered top-of-the-range sharpening utensils. They come in a multitude of grits, from a very thick grit recommended for working on a damaged blade to a fine grit ideal for polishing. The naniwa stone ranges are equally varied: it's up to you to choose the one that suits you best!

The Traditional Stone Naniwa range is, as the name suggests, the brand's more traditional range. The stones are less hard than those in the Professional or Super Stone ranges, but they have the real advantage of offering a very pleasant feel. They're easy to use, even if you're new to stone sharpening.

Japanese Traditional Stone T-102: 220 grit

Its 220 grit is very thick. This gives it very high abrasive power, making it easy to remove material from your blades. This is why it should be used on very damaged blades, which need to be resharpened. This grain will "clean" the steel.

Traditional Stone naniwa is a water-borne stone. It must therefore be immersed in water before use. Allow 20 to 30 minutes for this.

Once you've finished using it, you can brush it to clean it of the waste accumulated from steel passages, then let it dry completely before storing it in a dry place. To do this, leave it in the open air, and don't put it near a heat source (it will dry too quickly and may crack).

To guarantee safe use and a stable stone, you can use the dedicated Naniwa stand.
