The Hakami Sakura 2-Knife Set includes two essential knives for everyday cooking: a chef ’s knife and a paring knife!
Crafted with a hammered San Mai blade and a 10Cr15CoMoV stainless steel core, these knives combine precision cutting, durability, and Japanese aesthetics. The set thus offers a versatile solution for everyday tasks, from chopping vegetables to more delicate preparations.
Two blades designed for cooking
The set includes a paring knife with a 9-cm blade, as well as a chef’s knife with a 20-cm blade. The paring knife is ideal for precision tasks such as peeling, trimming, or cutting small foods. The second is the ideal length for cutting vegetables, fruits, meats, and fish. Its chef’s-style blade also allows for slicing and chopping with a smooth, even motion.
Both blades feature a three-layer San Mai construction: a hard core of 10Cr15CoMoV stainless steel is sandwiched between two layers of softer steel. This design aims to combine a sharp edge with durability. The hammered finish creates an irregular surface on the blade, which reduces food sticking during cutting and gives each knife an authentic look. The smooth cutting edge ensures clean, even cuts.
A comfortable and stable handle
Both knives feature a brown, oval-shaped Pakka wood handle. This composite material is prized in the kitchen for its durability and ease of maintenance. Its surface provides a comfortable grip during repeated use, while the rounded shape naturally conforms to the palm.
The handle’s design is equally suited to the more precise movements of the paring knife andthe cutting motions of the chef’s knife. The total length is 20.5 cm for the paring knife and 30 cmfor the chef’s knife. This difference allows you to easily switch from tasks requiring a wider range of motion to preparations that demand greater control.
The brown color provides a warm finish that is consistent with the spirit of the Sakura line. Combined with the hammered patterns on the blades, it creates a set that is both functional and decorative, suitable for regular use as well as for display in a gift box.

Usage and Care Instructions
Use these knives on a wooden cutting board or a soft surface to preserve the edge. Avoid hard surfaces such as glass, stone, or ceramic. Clean the blades by hand with a soft sponge, then dry them immediately. Dishwasher use is not recommended, as detergents, heat, and impact can damage the blade and the Pakka wood handle. Store each knife in a suitable place, away from direct contact with other utensils. Regular sharpening on a suitable whetstone will help maintain the knife’s cutting quality.
