Suehiro medium-grain polishing powder is an essential accessory for all those who use whetstones to maintain their knives.

This powder has a marked abrasive power that smoothes the materials that come into contact with it. For example, you can use it to smooth out a hollowed whetstone by applying it to its surface. Moisten the surface, then use a flattening stone to rub the powder into the stone. It will gradually smooth the stone, reinforcing the abrasive power of the levelling stone.

You can also use it to polish a rusty knife in the same way (apply to the blade, moisten, then rub with a flat-tipped piece of wood). Note, however, that this may leave a few small marks on the steel of the blade. You can polish it afterwards.

Once you've finished using it, close the cap to seal the bottle. Clean your stone and knife and dry thoroughly before storing.
