Tapaninaho loved making homemade pizzas, but was frustrated by baking them in a household oven. He found the pizzas "good, but not exceptional". So he wanted everyone to have access to a pizza oven that could reach extreme temperatures, so that homemade pizzas would be of the same quality as in a pizzeria. The Ooni oven was born.
