Choose the 100% steel Tamahagane Bamboo range to prepare your dishes with complete peace of mind!
When you invest in a Tamahagane Bamboo knife, you're assured of a top-of-the-range knife capable of slicing your food in the blink of an eye without straining the blade!
The blade of this Tamahagane Bamboo paring knife measures 8cm, so it's small but versatile! Slice, cube, peel and turn vegetables with ease, thanks to its small size. It has been designed in carbon-rich VG5 steel (0.7 to 0.8%). The blade achieves a Rockwell hardness of 59 HRC thanks to its high carbon content(54-56 HRC for standard steels). Thanks to this hardness, you won't need to sharpen your blade too often, as it will wear very slowly.
For connoisseurs of Japanese knives: VG5 has strong similarities with VG10(a steel widely used in Japan), renowned for its excellent cutting edge! This hard core is coated with SUS410 steel, which is why it's called 3-layer steel. This softer steel is there to protect the core from impact and corrosion(although it is not stainless).
In satin-finish stainless steel, the handle is shaped like a bamboo stalk, reminiscent of the knife's Japanese origins. You'll have no trouble keeping it clean, thanks to its antibacterial and rust-proof properties! The ergonomic design provides a pleasant grip.
Care instructions: Wash your knife by hand, then wipe dry to preserve its beauty over the long term. We advise you not to wait until your blade is too dull to sharpen it, and to use a grit stone (between 3000 and 8000).
Whether you're a keen cook or a professional chef, this all-steel knife will make cooking a breeze - and if you're a keen cook, it'll make your passion even stronger!
