A Fukito damask chopper that combines power and elegance
The Fukito 17cm Ebony Damascus hammered cleaver knife invites you to rediscover cutting! Designed to slice meat, large vegetables and aromatic herbs with ease, this knife is as appealing for its sturdiness as for the meticulous aesthetics of its damascened and hammered blade. Carefully crafted, it is ideal for enthusiasts looking for a knife that is reliable, durable and pleasant to use every day.
A damascened blade with high-performance steel
This Fukito damascus cleaver features a 17cm blade with a damascus structure. This design combines aesthetic finesse with long-lasting sharpness. The blade contains a hard core of rigid steel, which is then surrounded by several layers of softer steel.
Here, the core of the blade is made from 10CR15COMOV stainless steel, an alloy containing almost 1.05% carbon and 15% chromium. Carbon is the element that hardens the cutting edge while ensuring long durability. With a hardness of around 60 HRC, you can further sharpen the blade to ensure easy cutting and a clean finish. Chromium is what makes steel corrosion-resistant.
The core is then covered with 66 layers of softer stainless steel, for a total of 67 layers including the core. The purpose of these upper layers is to add a little flexibility to the rigid core, while protecting it at the same time. Not to mention that they give the blade an unmistakable look.
The upper part of the blade is also hammered, which contrasts elegantly with the damask look, and reduces the adherence of greasy or moist foods when cutting.
A refined, resistant ebony handle
The handle of the Fukito cleaver knife is made from ebony, a noble exotic wood known for its strength and durability. Ebony's high density makes it highly resistant to deformation and humidity. It is recognized by its dark, almost black, elegant hue. The ebony contrasts beautifully with the brightness of the damascus blade.
Its oval shape offers a stable, ambidextrous grip, suitable for all hand sizes. You'll enjoy optimum comfort, even with prolonged use.
A brass ring adds an extra touch of elegance to the knife. It is located close to the bolster, giving the knife good balance. The stainless steel bolster and base ensure the knife's structural robustness, prolonging its life.
