The Sayuto Pakka X50 boning knife features a fine blade with a pronounced guard to remove meat from around the bones. No waste.
The blade is made ofGerman X50CrMov15 stainless steel . This alloy is very popular with professionals, as it has many advantages. For example, its 15% chromium content makes it more resistant to corrosion. Beyond chromium, all the other elements in the blade balance each other out (for example, its vanadium content balances out its carbon content to add "flexibility" and make it less brittle). Finally, its edge durability/sharpness and quality/price ratios are very attractive!
For a light finish, the blade is delicately satin-finished.
A stainless steel bolster joins the blade to the handle. The handle is made of Pakkawood, a material also known as Pakka wood. Why do you ask? Because it resembles wood, thanks to its veins. It's a composite material combining compressed wood with resin, hot-pressed together to create a highly resistant product. It's a material reputed to be rot-proof, resistant to moisture and bacteria. 2 rivets secure it to the structure. Finally, the steel base finishes off the handle and gives it balance.
Its curved shape is perfect for both right- and left-handed users.
For impeccable knife care, wash by hand. Dry immediately before storing. The dishwasher should not be used, and soaking it in the sink is also strongly discouraged.
