This Yaxell sharpening stone will enable you to take care of the cutting edge of your kitchen knives with ease and efficiency!

In fact, its double working surface ensures particularly effective care of your blades: the #1000 medium-grit face enables you to sharpen your blades ideally (to remove the little waste accumulated when cutting), and the #3000 fine-grit face is perfect for finishing and maintenance, so that your blades retain all their sharpness. This stone is therefore perfect for periodic use.

What's more, the non-slip base makes for a more than comfortable use! Once resting on it, you can move the blade back and forth without the rest of the stone moving.

Thanks to the sharpening guide, you can sharpen your kitchen knives effortlessly: place it on the cutting surface and then sharpen the blade directly at the right angle. The knife's edge will be respected.

Last but not least, a small nagura stone is supplied: this small model allows you to create the slurry beforehand that facilitates sharpening. In fact, after a few moments of sharpening your knife, you'll notice a small colored sludge forming on the surface of the stone, and this is perfectly normal. This "sludge" is even essential, as it helps to sharpen the knife, so don't clean it off during the process.

Here are some more tips on how to use your Yaxell double-sided stone:

- wet it about ten minutes in advance

- place the guide on your blade

- move back and forth over the stone

- during this operation, a black filing will appear: this is what sharpens knives. Once the filings have solidified, add more water and sharpen the rest of your knife.

If you use your Japanese knife, like mine with 37 or 63 layers of damascus, on a daily basis, you should at least have these two levels of finish on a stone. The seat ensures that you don't slip and that you can sharpen without fear. Nor is the surface-finishing stone a gadget. The angle-holding system is less practical than the model created by Wusthoff.
