The elegant, high-performance Japanese paring knife
The Kai Shun Kagerou 10cm paring knife is the ideal companion for all the small cuts of everyday life, in a top-of-the-range version. Made in Japan by Kai and awarded the Red Dot Award 2025, this knife combines precision, luxurious design and ergonomics.
Small but formidably efficient, this Japanese Kai paring knife is perfect for peeling, carving or slicing fruit, vegetables or small pieces of meat. Its compact size offers great maneuverability and unrivalled precision, making it an indispensable kitchen knife for professionals and discerning amateurs alike.
A compact, high-performance blade
The 10cm blade is made from Dual Core, a combination of two top-quality stainless steels: VG2, appreciated for its flexibility and strength, and VG10, renowned for its hardness and exceptional cutting performance. This Dual Core blade achieves a hardness of almost 61 HRC, guaranteeing a long-lasting edge and remarkable cutting finesse. Thanks to Composite Blade Technology, these two steels merge to deliver long-lasting cutting performance and singular aesthetics.
Visually, the blade impresses with its 71-layer damascus pattern on the underside, reminiscent of rising flames. The upper part is mirror-polished, sublimated by a copper edging that elegantly delimits the damascus zone. The Shun logo on the blade and engraved on the base accentuate the knife's luxurious appearance.
An ergonomic, elegant handle
The 10.5cm handle is made from mottled grey Pakkawood, a composite material renowned for its resistance to humidity and temperature variations. It features the original symmetrical U-shape typical of the Shun Kagerou range, ensuring an excellent grip whether you're right- or left-handed.
The stainless steel bolster and forged stainless steel base contribute to the knife's perfect balance, guaranteeing comfort and stability for the most precise cuts. This elegantly designed knife combines aesthetics and ergonomics in every detail.
