Let yourself be seduced by the all-steel Tamahagane Bamboo range !
Rest assured, this top-of-the-range santoku knife is capable of slicing your food in the blink of an eye, without forcing the blade!
The blade of this Tamahagane Bamboo santoku knife measures 17.5cm, an optimal size for working on all types of vegetables and meat! It is made from a steel used exclusively by Tamahagane to date:VG5 steel , which contains 0.7 to 0.8% carbon. Carbon contributes significantly to the blade's hardness, which reaches 59 HRC. Thanks to this extreme hardness, you won't need to sharpen your blade too frequently, as wear and tear occurs slowly. The santoku is as versatile as the chef's knife - in fact, it's the Japanese "chef's knife".
If you're a fan of Japanese knives, VG5 has a lot in common with VG10 steel(widely used in Japan). Renowned for its excellent cutting edge, VG5 offers the same cutting quality as VG10! This hard core is covered with SUS410 steel, which is why it's called 3-layer steel. This softer steel is added to protect the core from corrosion and impact(note that it is not stainless).
In satin-finish stainless steel, the handle is sculpted like a bamboo stalk, an original design that refers to the place where this knife was conceived. It's hygienic and rustproof, so you'll have no trouble keeping it clean! The ergonomic design ensures a soft, pleasant grip.
Care instructions: Wash your knife by hand, then dry it with a cloth to preserve its sharpness and appearance. We advise you not to wait until your blade is dull before sharpening it. Preferably use a grit stone (3000/8000).
Make room in your professional kitchen or at home for this all-steel Tamahagane Bamboo knife full of quality!
