Description

Suehiro is a Japanese specialist in professional sharpening. The ergonomic whetstones he develops are durable, and even completely suitable for sharpening novices.

The Suehiro Kouseki stone is highly appreciated by users, and gives excellent results not only on kitchen knives, but also on razors, scissors and all other metal tools.

It only needs to be slightly moistened with water to start working. In fact, there's no need to submerge it, which means that once you've finished using it, you can dry it more quickly, thus avoiding possible cracking due to variations in drying temperature.

Its #10000 grit is considered ultra-fine (it's one of the highest we offer), so it's recommended for an extra-thin edge finish, to develop razor-sharp cutting ability.

This highly acclaimed stone has been designed to replace natural whetstones, which are highly effective but less resistant over time. To this end, it is created using a special method dating back to the 70s, which combines very fine abrasive particles with magnesium oxide. The result is high performance and durability.

Please note that, after a few moments' use, you will notice a small colored sludge forming on the surface of the stone, and this is perfectly normal. This "sludge" is even essential, as it helps to sharpen the knife, so don't clean it off during the process.

After use, you can rinse the surface and clean it with a soft brush. Wipe with a dry cloth, then leave to dry in a room at room temperature (keep out of direct sunlight for faster drying).

Complementary accessories:

Two small finishing stones are supplied with your Kouseki stone:

- Green stone (9 x 3 x 2 cm; 90g): thick grit for polishing the surface of thick-grit stones

- White stone (7.5 x 2.3 x 2.2 cm; 75g): fine grit for polishing the surface of finishing stones

Additional information: the dimensions of the stone may vary by a few millimeters, and its weight by a few grams - this is quite normal.
