Wusaki Pakka X50 kitchen knives are ideal for all cooks, professional or amateur, who want to equip themselves with quality every day. Both the components and the manufacturing processes are designed and chosen for their performance, durability and functionality. An efficient, modern design adds to the list of advantages, making them as pleasing to the eye as they are to use. With Wusaki Pakka X50 knives, you make no compromises when it comes to making your time in the kitchen easier!
This 20cm carving knife is useful when you need to cut large pieces of meat, ham or fish. Its long, fine blade produces nice, even slices. It is also recommended for chopping meat (without bones).
The blade is made of German X50CrMoV15 stainless steel. This steel is highly appreciated for its durability and ease of maintenance (sharpening and washing). It has a 15% chromium content, making it resistant to corrosion. Its carbon content is 0.5% (for strength), and it is also enriched with Molybdenum and Vanadium (which affect its impact resistance and elasticity, making it less brittle). In fact, its final hardness is around 56/58 HRC on the Rockwell scale, a good ratio between edge life and maintenance. For example, you can maintain its edge with our selection of Wusaki sharpening stones.
The upper part of the blade is hammered with a mechanical press, creating unique patterns on each blade. In addition to its elegant appearance, hammering is appreciated for increasing the knife's non-stick properties tenfold (as with honeycombing).
The brand logo is laser-engraved on the cutting surface with a glossy finish. Its V-shaped cutting edge is formed on a strip of leather at a 15° lateral angle (cumulative 30°). Penetration of food is effortless and clean. Food is cut with precision, and its fibers are not broken or damaged. The knife's cutting quality is noticeable from the very first use.
The handle of this Wusaki knife is made of Pakkawood. This composite material is highly appreciated in the kitchen for its durability and sturdiness. It is composed of laminated wood and resin, all compressed at high temperature. The result resembles natural wood due to the unique veins running across its surface.
Pakkawood is not only antibacterial, but also resistant to temperature variations and humidity (it is said to be rot-proof). It has been varnished for extra protection against stains and moisture. Its simple, straight shape makes it easy to use for both right- and left-handers! Its highly original red sheen highlights the blade's hammered steel, and the base engraved with the "Tiger" character in Japanese. Wusaki handles are made slightly longer than the current cutlery market average, to be more comfortable to use whatever the size of your hand.
Last but not least, the Wusaki Pakka X50 knife's design is simple yet effective: the combination of materials and colors makes it an exceptional and timeless piece. Wusaki knives are manufactured by a small company located north of the city of Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province in Western China. This province is historically renowned for its knife-making expertise. Wusaki expertise is entirely governed by French manufacturing standards established for professionals in the sector.
This Wusaki knife comes in a top-of-the-range black case, which protects it from shocks. The tiger-decorated case is very elegant and makes it easy to give as a gift (or treat yourself!).
For care, we recommend gentle hand-washing in lukewarm water with a mild soap. You can then wipe the knife with a soft cloth and store it in a dry place. Please note: on delivery, the knife blade is lightly coated with oil to protect it. Simply wash before 1st use to remove the oil.
