Wusaki Pakka X50 kitchen knives are suitable for both professional and domestic use. They are recommended for cooks who wish to equip themselves with quality on a daily basis, without making compromises. Materials and manufacturing processes are designed to guarantee high-performance, long-lasting and functional knives. A sleek, modern design adds to all these advantages, making them as pleasing to the eye as they are to use.
This set contains :
- 1 9cm paring knife (recommended for slicing, peeling or decorating small fruits and vegetables)
- 1 chef's knife 20cm (the all-purpose knife par excellence, it slices, chops and minces all types of food such as meat, vegetables...)
These two knives are the main models used in the kitchen! So you can equip yourself ingeniously and kill two birds with one stone!
The high-gloss blade of these knives is made of German stainless steel (X50CrMoV15). This steel is renowned for its durability and ease of maintenance (including sharpening and washing). It has a 15% chromium content, making it resistant to oxidation. Its carbon content is 0.5% (for hardness), and it is also enriched with Molybdenum and Vanadium (which have an impact on its impact resistance and elasticity, making it less brittle). The hardness of this steel is between 56/58 HRC on the Rockwell scale, a good compromise between edge life and maintenance.
The upper part of the blade is hammered with a press, creating unique patterns on each blade, with original bumps and hollows. In addition to its elegant appearance, hammering is recommended to increase the knife's non-stick properties (as would be the case with honeycombing). Finally, the brand logo is laser-engraved.
The V-edge cutting edge is formed on a strip of leather at a 15° angle. Penetration into skin or flesh is clean and crisp, and food fibers are not damaged. The cutting quality of these knives is noticeable from the very first use.
The handle of every Wusaki knife is made of Pakkawood. This is a composite material often used in culinary circles, as it is durable and robust. It's composed of laminated wood and resin, all hot-pressed together. The final result resembles natural wood due to its unique veins.
Pakkawood is not only antibacterial, but also resistant to temperature variations and humidity (it is reputed to be rot-proof). It has been varnished for extra protection against moisture and stains. With its straight shape, it can be used comfortably by right- and left-handers alike!
Its unusual red sheen highlights the blade's hammered steel, and the cap engraved with the Japanese "Tiger" character. It's important to note that Wusaki handles are made a little longer than the current cutlery market average, to be more comfortable to use whatever the size of your hand.
Finally, we can mention the simple yet effective design of Wusaki Pakka X50 knives: the combination of materials and colors makes them exceptional and timeless pieces.
They are delivered in an elegant and protective black box. Thanks to this beautiful box decorated with a tiger, you can offer them as a gift to a lover of good knives, for example! Wusaki knives are manufactured by a small company located north of the city of Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province in Western China. This province is historically renowned for its knife-making expertise. Wusaki expertise is entirely governed by French manufacturing standards established for professionals in the sector.
For maintenance, we recommend gentle hand-washing in lukewarm water with a mild soap. You can then wipe the knives with a soft cloth and store them in a dry place. Please note: on delivery, the blades are lightly coated with protective oil. Simply wash before 1st use to remove the protective oil.
