The King Hyper 2000 whetstone is the big sister of King's Deluxe stones. Made from a special high-quality composite material, it is distinguished by its increased hardness. Not only does this enable the stone to wear less quickly, thus prolonging its durability, but it also makes it perfectly suited to knives with a hardness between 61 and 66 HRC.
This high-performance stone is totally suited to professional use. It ensures rapid sharpening, which is essential for cooks who need to be efficient when serving.
Your King Hyper 2000 stone has been manufactured in Japan by the brand. It is normal for the stone to become slightly hollow with use. To maintain its performance, we recommend using a straightening stone or Nagura stone to level it.
The King Hyper 2000 Japanese whetstone has a medium to fine grain, ideal for restoring the sharpness of blades in good condition, but especially suitable as the first stage of sharpening for your harder blades.
Indeed, once you've straightened your blade's edge, it's always a good idea to sharpen it further to polish the edge. This allows you to move progressively towards a razor-sharp finish.
The king hyper 2000 Japanese stone is a traditional water stone. It is important to immerse it for fifteen minutes before use. While you're sharpening, make sure you keep it moist by soaking it regularly. Once sharpening is complete, remove any accumulated steel residue. Clean the stone with clear water and let it air-dry before storing.
