The Fukito Ebène X50Universal knife is a small all-purpose knife. Slightly larger than the paring knife, the universal is recommended for cutting fruits and vegetables, but in larger sizes. Its small size makes it easy to handle for everyday use.
More about the knife :
This knife features a German stainless steel blade , X50CrMov15. This steel is renowned for its durability and ease of maintenance (sharpening and washing!). This is due in particular to its high chromium content (15%), which makes it resistant to corrosion. This alloy is also composed of vanadium, which balances its carbon content to add "suppleness" and make it less brittle.
The combination of excellent edge durability, ease of sharpening and value for money is very attractive!
This blade benefits from vacuum heat treatment. Carried out in a protected, element-free atmosphere, this treatment is designed to preserve the blade's full potential. It is therefore much more advantageous, as during standard heat treatment, certain elements present in the air can react with the metal (e.g. oxygen, hydrogen...).
The blade has an attractive satin finish.
A stainless steel bolster links the blade to the handle. Its gently sloping surface makes for an easy, natural grip.
The handle is made of deep, dark ebony. This wood is considered precious and offers many advantages, such as high resistance to humidity and intensive use. Here, the wood has been polished to make it soft and pleasant to the touch, even over time. Each handle is unique due to the living nature of the wood. Each handle has its own nuances and veins!
Blade and handle are joined together by 3 rivets. The central rivet is special in that it features an attractive copper mosaic contrasting with the color of the ebony.
At the end of the handle is a stainless-steel cap: this balances the final weight of the knife. The handle is suitable for both right- and left-handed users.
Each Fukito knife comes in a handsome magnetic box, ideal for gift-giving or for treating yourself. It can also be used as a storage box when not in use.
Care: we recommend hand-washing with a sponge and mild detergent. As soon as the knife is clean, wipe it immediately with a cloth to remove all traces of moisture, then store it. Dishwashing and soaking in the sink are not recommended.
