A Japanese santoku that cuts efficiently
The santoku knife is an extremely versatile Japanese knife, capable of making a multitude of cuts on a variety of foods. Whether for fish, meat, fruit or vegetables, it can slice, chop or mince. Equipped with a 17cm blade, this Satake knife is suitable for all types of food, provided they are neither hard (without bones) nor frozen.
The knife's blade is made of stainless steel enriched with vanadium and molybdenum, which enhances its resistance to shock and corrosion. Thanks to these elements, the stainless steel achieves a hardness of 57 HRC on the Rockwell scale, ensuring a Satake knife with a long-lasting edge that's easy to sharpen.
When the need arises, you can regularly use a sharpening gun to maintain optimum sharpness, or sharpen your knife with a stone. A hardness of 57 HRC offers an excellent compromise between ease of sharpening and cutting performance.
A lightweight, easy-to-handle handle
The knife's oval-shaped handle fits perfectly in the palm of your hand, whether you're right- or left-handed. Its ergonomic design and comfort guarantee pleasant use when cutting, making it an ideal choice for long sessions as fatigue is not felt.
The knife's handle is made of PP (polypropylene). This resin is known for its strength and lightness, and is resistant to water and grease. An interesting choice for kitchen use, polypropylene is easy to clean.
The handle is completed by a stainless steel ring that links it to the blade. It firmly attaches the handle to the tang of the knife, providing ideal balance and a watertight unit.
To clean your Satake knife, wash it exclusively by hand with a non-abrasive sponge. Dry immediately after cleaning and store in a dry place. Do not put in the dishwasher or leave to soak in the sink.
