Wusaki Pakka X50 kitchen knives are suitable for both professional and domestic use. They are recommended for cooks wishing to equip themselves with quality, without making any compromises! Materials and manufacturing processes are chosen to guarantee high-performance, long-lasting and functional knives. A sleek design with a touch of originality adds to all these advantages, making them as pleasing to the eye as they are to use. Wusaki knives are manufactured by a small company located north of the city of Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province in Western China. This province is historically renowned for its knife-making expertise. Wusaki expertise is entirely governed by French manufacturing standards established for professionals in the sector.
Let's take a closer look at the technical features of each of Wusaki's Pakka X50 knives:
The blade
The blade, with its shiny finish, is made of German stainless steel (X50CrMoV15). This steel is renowned for its durability and ease of maintenance (including sharpening and washing).
It is resistant to oxidation thanks to its 15% chromium content. Its carbon content is 0.5% (for hardness), and it is also enriched with Molybdenum and Vanadium (which have an impact on its impact resistance and elasticity, making it less brittle). The alloy's hardness ranges from 56/58 HRC on the Rockwell scale, a good compromise between edge life and maintenance.
In addition, the blade has been hammered with a press, creating unique patterns on each one. In addition to creating an original, refined look, the hammering increases the knife's non-stick capacity (a bit like honeycombing). Finally, the brand logo is laser-engraved on the cutting surface.
The cutting edge
The V-edge cutting edge is formed on a strip of leather at a lateral angle of 15° (for a total of 30°). Penetration into skin or flesh is clean and precise, and food fibers are not damaged. The cutting quality of these knives is noticeable from the very first use: you don't have to force them.
The handle
The handle of every Wusaki knife is made of Pakkawood. This is a composite material often used in culinary circles, as it is durable and robust. It's made from laminated wood and resin, which are then heat-compressed. The end result resembles natural wood, with particular and unique veins visible on its surface. Pakkawood is not only antibacterial, but also resistant to temperature variations and humidity (it is said to be rot-proof). For additional protection against moisture and stains, it has been varnished. Its simple, straight shape makes it ideal for ambidextrous use.
Its unusual red sheen highlights the blade's hammered steel, and the cap engraved with the Japanese "Tiger" character. It's important to note that Wusaki handles are made a little longer than the current cutlery market average, to be more comfortable to use whatever the size of your hand.
Design, storage and care
Finally, it's worth noting the simple yet effective design of Wusaki Pakka X50 knives: the combination of materials and contrasting colors make them exceptional timeless pieces.
They are delivered in a black box that is both elegant and secure. Thanks to this beautiful tiger-decorated case, you can store them carefully after use, or give them as a gift to a lover of fine blades!
To care for them, wash them by hand in lukewarm water, using a mild soap. You can then wipe the knives with a soft cloth and store them in a dry place. Please note: on delivery, the blades are lightly oiled to protect them. Simply wash before 1st use to remove the oil.
