Robert Herder is a German knife-maker whose expertise has endured for over a century at the Windmuehlenmesser factory in Solingen, one of the world's leading knife-making towns. Robert Herder knives are made from top-of-the-range materials, with an emphasis on cutting quality, sturdiness and ergonomics. Blades are made of stainless steel and hand-sharpened using the following techniques: Solinger Duünnschliff® for a very fine, sharp edge, and Blaupließten for a lustrous blue surface on the blade. Handles are available in a variety of woods from Europe: the wood is hand-mounted and ground on the full tang blade and held in place by rivets. It is then oiled to bring out the grain and create a smooth surface that is pleasant to the touch. Robert Herder knives are designed for perfect ergonomics with slim handles. What's more, each knife is unique, thanks to its handcrafted manufacture and the different woods used. Robert Herder German knives are ideal for everyday use in the kitchen.
