An efficient blade for cutting fish
The deba knife is a Japanese knife with a thick blade for precise filleting. This model has a 12cm blade that is perfect for working with small fish. It allows you to easily separate the heads and clean them. Its asymmetrical blade is sharpened on one side only, ensuring fine cutting of fish. What's more, this specific blade is suitable for right-handed cooks.
The blade of this knife is made of stainless steel, enriched with molybdenum and vanadium for enhanced resistance to shock and corrosion. These elements enhance the alloy's hardness, which here reaches 57 HRC on the Rockwell scale. This ensures that Satake knives are not only easy to sharpen, but also long-lasting.
When the need arises, you can stone-sharpen your knife or sharpen it regularly with a sharpening gun to maintain optimum sharpness. This hardness offers a good balance between ease of sharpening and cutting performance.
This deba knife has already been laser sharpened for immediate use. The blade has also been polished and hammered across its entire upper section, giving it an elegant finish and preventing greasy or moist foods from sticking. Finally, the blade is embossed with kanji for a traditional touch.
A comfortable oval handle
The handle of the deba knife is made of magnolia, a precious wood known for its light, creamy color. This material, known for its lightness, soft feel and resistance to humidity, is traditionally used to make the scabbards of Japanese swords.
It is cut into an oval shape that sits naturally in your palm. Comfortable, ergonomic cutting. This knife is ideal for long cutting sessions, as the sensation of fatigue is reduced.
The handle is complemented by a black synthetic bolster to link it to the blade. It also provides good balance.
To clean your Satake knife, wash it exclusively by hand with a soft sponge. After cleaning, dry immediately and store in a dry place. Do not put in the dishwasher or leave to soak in the sink.
